Hand-crafted short stories of horror

There's a reason why I’m invited to pay to attend Stoker-Con and Hank Schwaeble is invited to Stoker-Con to pick up his award. These are excellent stories, well told. Covering the gamut from Western-ish, to 70s Kolchak, to after the apocalypse.
American Nocturne


These are the hand-crafted stories where every word, turn of phrase, each twist is exactly as it should be. American Nocturne is what authors dream of writing, but rarely achieve. 
Filled with a variety of tales of psychological horror, my personal favorite type, Hank’s stories gave me a slow creep of dread, page after page, wondering what will happen next, and rarely seeing the twist. If you are looking for splatter-porn to scare you, try another author.
I will admit there were a few layout glitches which were annoying but did not detract overall.

Procrastination


Since I’ve been looking for an excuse (any excuse) to avoid doing rewrites, I thought I’d pretend to be productive by talking about what I’ve been reading. 
Right now, I’m reading American Nocture by Hank Schwable,

The EarthCent Ambassador series is fluff reading, a modern-ish Victorian-style wacky escapade set in the distant future. There is a reason E. M. Forner has fifteen in the series so far, they’re fun to read.

If you’re looking for a bit of very light reading and you like to laugh, I rather enjoy The EarthCent Ambassador series. 

Now back to the important stuff, my books.

Best Horror Novel of 2017


So this happened.
I did not even know about the contest, until Rick Gualtieri sent me a congrats notice.


Have to admit, I was pretty jazzed. In other news Chuck Wendig has a pretty good post on marketing. You can read it here.

Chuck essentially says what I’ve said all along, you have to be unique and entertaining to get someone’s attention, the whole point of marketing after all, and you have to make it easy to buy your products. Being polite, positive and funny all help. But, again, you MUST entertain, give the person a reason to read your message and follow your instructions. Sending out “buy my book,” online is no more likely to get you sales, than yelling “buy my book,” on street corners.

The new book is being edited, should be out before 2018, hopefully much sooner.
Junior Inquisitor is being translated into Spanish and Italian. I'll let you know when they are ready.
