The Vampire of Rome cover reveal and more

The Vampire of Rome is being tweaked, and is still on schedule for its October release. I'll have an exact date once I'm a bit closer, but I do not see any problems with releasing by the 15th.

I have a book cover!

And an animated version as well.

Rough Blurb, this may change in the final version

Still a prisoner in the Vatican, and recovering from his ordeal in the Pacific Northwest, Brother Sebastian is assigned a new mission; Purge a Vampire Lord with a taste for Cardinals.

Brittney is working on the Soulless Monk book trailer. If you have not seen the one for Junior Inquisitor, it can be found here -

Review

Hardcore Henry

Unless I'm with a bunch of friends, I'm not much of a first person shooter fan. I like a good strategy game. Civilization, Command and Conquer, those are what I'll while away my hours doing, or at least I used to do that...

However, despite my “Meh” feelings on first person shooter games, except as a way to get in some serious smack talk, when I saw the trailer for Hardcore Henry, I knew I had to see this movie. Sadly it was not on Netflix, but Redbox picked up the slack.

Think of this movie as a first person shooter video game come to the big screen. You open your eyes, there is a minimum of backstory and Bam! You are fighting for your life; running while trying to figure out what the hell is going on. Worse the bad guy snatches up the wife. Then it becomes time to storm the castle. And Henry does, with some help, and just a few stops along the way.

Sharlto Copley, playing Jimmy, probably had the most fun of any of the actors. With out giving away much, he gets to play a dozen different versions of Jimmy, who is helping Henry get back his wife for his own reasons. The song and dance number was surreal and hilarious.
Lots of critics panned this movie. I guess they wanted some version of Casablanca, or the stick removal operation did not succeed. I laughed a lot, I was immersed in this movie and it was worth every penny, and then some.

Wish I could have seen in in IMAX.

Next week I'll be reviewing Janey Mack's soon to be released book,
Shoot 'Em Up.

Liked the first two, and I bet I'll like this one as well. Probably get some other reviews in as well. Edits, finishing AOC, my boss expecting me to show up for work, and, of course, the family are all making demands on my time. So I don't get to read as much as I'd like. Should have been born rich instead of smart and damn good looking.
